Case Study
A new website to promote time in range for those affected by diabetes
Home/Time in Range Case Study
About the Client
The Time in Range Coalition unites individuals with diabetes, researchers, diabetes-focused leaders, and industry partners to deliver vital information on diabetes management, aiming to globally promote time in range alongside A1c as a key metric for diabetes health.
Goals
The project aimed to create a user-friendly WordPress website to educate individuals with diabetes about time in range (TIR), offer guidance, and address concerns about managing glucose levels while leading healthy lifestyles.
Additionally, the site aimed to provide resources for healthcare professionals and support the Coalition’s broader objective of enhancing access to continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) to alleviate strain on healthcare systems. The new website needed to leverage the Coalition’s branding, allow for future expansion, and be easy for the client to maintain.
Our Roles and Tasks
In our role at Brooks Digital, focusing on content strategy and design management, our tasks encompassed:
- Analyzing the brand guidelines and proposing a design for online experiences
- Mapping content, analyzing data, and creating an information architecture
- Creating wireframes to outline layout and functionality
- Building the site
- Documenting processes, writing an authoring guide, and conducting training sessions
- Ensuring quality through comprehensive testing
- Providing ongoing support after the launch and making continuous improvements.
Results
Working with Brooks Digital with responsibility for design and strategy, we meticulously examined the client’s third-party brand and messaging materials, ensuring consistent branding across all communication channels. Following this, we conducted a stakeholder workshop to thoroughly understand the project’s specific requirements, user groups, and business objectives.

We identified three primary user groups: individuals with diabetes, healthcare professionals, and advocates for affordable continuous glucose monitors. Through a collaborative “how might we” exercise, we brainstormed content solutions and defined the site architecture, catering to each group’s unique needs.
The site is divided into four main sections: “For People with Diabetes,” “For Healthcare Professionals,” “Resources & Research,” and “The Coalition.” Each section offers curated articles and resources tailored to the respective audience’s interests and needs.
The site’s visual design utilizes strong imagery, vibrant colors, and light-hearted messaging to create an inclusive and engaging experience.
The chosen fonts reflect the Coalition’s print and identity campaign, enhancing brand consistency.
The site features black-and-white backgrounds and fonts, with six highlight colors adding visual interest. Inspirational photographs and custom illustrations enrich the user experience, creating a visually appealing and user-friendly platform.
Built on WordPress using the Understrap framework, the custom theme prioritizes stability, efficiency, and speed. Extensive server-side rendering and caching ensure a fast website with minimal latency and client-side overhead.
To facilitate client autonomy, we provided training and created a comprehensive User Guide. Post-launch, we continue to enhance functionality, make incremental improvements, and provide ongoing support and security updates.
Outcome
The redesigned Time in Range Website offers a user-friendly, visually appealing platform for individuals with diabetes and healthcare professionals. It provides tailored content based on visitor type, supported by vibrant imagery to promote inclusivity.

The site’s structure caters to diverse visitor needs, while a straightforward WordPress authoring system, coupled with training, empowers the client to manage content independently. Ongoing support and maintenance guarantee site security and enable the addition of new features after launch.
